CVS History 0.8.0 (Alpha) released

CVS History is a Web application for searching the history of CVS actions. It parses the output of the CVS history command and imports it into a MySQL database for ease of manipulation by the PHP front-end. Its advantage over other CVS history viewing applications is that it only needs anonymous CVS access to the repository.

This is the initial release of CVS History. It is an "Alpha" release that only implements some of the functionality that will be in the final release. It is intended as a preview release to those who are interested in trying it out before the code stabilizes.

A demo site is also installed at the following URL for those who do not want to trouble themselves with installing an "Alpha" application:

http://cvshist.sf.net/cvs_history

The demo site is an installation of CVS History 0.8.0 that displays the CVS history of the CVS History project from the SourceForge.net CVS repository (i.e. an example of a project "eating its own dog food" -- as unappetizing as that term sounds, bleh).

For this "Alpha" release, no bugs will be accepted because not all of the functionality has been implemented yet. The next release, the "Beta" release, will utilize SourceForge.net's Bug Tracker on the CVS History project website for keeping track of bugs.
