#7 Script does not handle UTF-8 LANG settings correctly

When the LANG environment variable is set to a language
with unicode support (in my case en_US.UTF-8) then the
script does not work.

My workaround it to set the LANG environment variable
to en_US for the duration of the script.

Maybe this can be solved, or at least documented (on
the webpage and/or in the script?)

b.t.w. I use 'Revision: 1.2' but I think the latest revision
also has this problem (but I'm not sure.... wil try later)

I have heard that this problem is a Perl bug.
Did you try since to update your Perl.
Which Perl/OS version do you use ?
