applying the patch involved actually unpacking my existing jar, adding the class files from the patch, re-zipping and then re-starting eclipse - just in case anyone else thinks they can get away with just adding the file as described - although I guess it might have just worked with the zip file .. hmm .. although the plugin.xml specifies the jar file explicitly. Would be nice to release the patch as a jar, or just have the patch incorporated into the main download.
