Initial Comment:
When dealing with po files, it is extremely useful to
pass the -I'#:' argument to diff so that useless
automatic updates about the string locations are not
displayed into the diff.

I'm quite sure there ia bunch of other situations in
which you want to ignore some lines in cvs commit
lines, but syncmail does not allow me to do so.

That's so unfair!
