It looks like there is forked syncmail version maintained at:
	http://ibiblio.org/ser/cvs/index.cgi/CVSROOT/log_diff.py

Seems to be forked before the syncmail project was created.
I thought I'd just let you know... Maybe the other version has
potential to inspire you. :)
