#4 Upgrade directions

Please provide recommended upgrade directions for each upgrade. In other words, how do I upgrade from 2.11.0 to 2.11.1 without creating problems? I assume the database does not change. However, if I just download and replace 2.11.0 with 2.11.1, I'm assuming I will at least lose any attached files. I also had a problem with the Install.php wanting to run and I didn't know an easy way to disable it.
