About me

Hi all, my name is Maksim Korzh, I am self learning developer from Ukraine. I have a mentor who is criticizing my code to help me grow professionally. I'm coding since 2015. My favourite languages are C, Python and Tcl/Tk. I tried myself in Java (Android development) and a bit of Ruby but didn't consider both to be my vocation. You can find my learning projects on github. My goal is to get as close to open-source community as possible. I want to work professionally in open-source development. I want to build solid stable and nice looking software for people just like me. I dream to become a part of the open-source community and get a rewarded job. Community gave me all the software tools needed to start up with and I want to give it something back in return. My very first real project CuteCODE is intended to serve this purpose.

About CuteCODE project

Hi all, I'd like to share my thoughts about CuteCODE project and why have I started to build it. I've tried differenet code editors and came up to the conclusion I don't really need 90% of given functionallity, well, that's definitely personal preference, but still it was the exact reason why I decided to start creating my own editor - with only basic features and cute looking visual appearence, which would be pleasent to look at for hours.

Code editor is a piece of software developer is seeing on the screen most of his working time, so as for me the main thing is eyes shouldn't be tired, that's why IMHO dark themes became so popular. Inspired by Sublime's monokai dark theme I've created my own which is slightly different from the original (see the screenshot to get me)

So the first reason I'm doing this is for my own, I've already written in the Summury->Description that even though CuteCODE is now under construction (pre-alpha version is coming for about in a month) I do already write code in it beleive it or not and feel absolutely happy about that.
The second reason - I want to make new contacts with other developers in order to exchange experience.
The third reason - I do beleive in open-source software and feel open-source to be my vocation
