The current "Basic" test failure message is of the
form:
Test: test_dummytest ... FAILED
It would be nice to have an additional "mode" where
the test failures would be output in GCC error message
format:
/usr/tjw/test/sw/main/services/dmlib/test/dm_common_tes
t.c:74: error: Suite suite_dm_common Test
test_dummytest Failed - ret != 7
(The important parts are the colon delimited ones).
The reason for this request is that when this is
supported and the unit tests are run as part of the
makefile (make builds then runs the unit test
program), the Eclipse CDT error scanner will find the
unit test failure error messages and put them in
the "Problems" window. Where-upon you can click on
the entry in the "Problems" window and it will open
the test file in an editor window and take you to the
line in the test file which has the unit test failure.
This shortens the "write test, compile, run, add code,
compile, run" loop for test driven development and
would make CUNIT more attractive for Eclipse CDT users.
