#28 Logical unit communication CRC Error

With CueRipper, when using an external drive connected through an IDE to USB adapter, the reading starts and works for some time, until I get an error window showing the following message:
Exception: Error reading CD: hardware error: LOGICAL UNIT COMMUNICATION CRC ERROR (ULTRA-DMA/32)
If I use the internal drive with CueRipper, I don't get that error.
Using Exact Audio Copy I can perform ripping with that drive without problems.
