    there are some still using 3.1, 3.0, 2.2 instead 8.3.1, 8.3.0, 8.2.2.
    please fix the URL or make it redirect therefore users see /manual830/, /manual840/ like this.
    these are not only for manaul, any tutorials/menus should have consistent and exact version name.

    Esen, please take the issue and tell Mr Kim when you finish.

    Like mysql did, it would be good to have manual URL as or

    The lab is asking to have it before commit the CM codes and release notes.

    and one more, is it possible to change backward as
    -  /manual31  -> /manual/831
    -  /manual30 -> /manual/830
    -  /manual21 -> /manual/821
    so that users can stay and search the contents on the corrected url ??

    sorry to bother you but the dev lab is asking me.
    Please let me know ASAP.

    Dear Laura,

    What I've done so far was to redirect the users who type in the browser to (current form of URLs in manuals)
    But currently all the links in the manuals respect (one of) the XE's format of URLs which is:

    So in order to have on URLs for manual in MySQL style we need to:
    - add some extra rules in XE's .htaccess file
    - customize the xe docs module to change all the links from:

    Please take care of the old URLs which are incoming from Search Engines. If we do not redirect 301 (permanently) SE will "punish" by lowering in the ranking due to frequent URL changes.

    Dear Esen,

    The old URLs were still valid so they would not "punish" us for broken links. But as we have discussed on chat today, Search Engines do not appreciate duplicate pages. So now I've made permanently (301) redirect of the old URLs to the new ones. Everything should be OK now.
