I tried running cube from my Window 98 (not SE) computer which
had no connections to the Internet set up.

When I ran Cube, I got a blue screen. Thereafter I get the
message from Windows of an access violiation "press any key to
reboot" (not a blue screen). The computer does boot in safe
mode, but I can't seem to find what has changed on my system.

I have of course removed the Cube directry tree but the
problem still persists.

My only guess is that I found deep in the past, if you
installed the Zone Alarm firewall onto a system which you had
not configured a internet connection of any type, you got a
blue screen on startup which persisted until you removed the
zone alarm firewall from the system.

Is this somewhat similar as apparently Cube demands a network
play and a server just to run?

Any way I can get my system back?

-- Thanks in advance.
