Sam, Andy, Just to clarify, I said to Sam off list that LUI has been replaced with SIS, and that if's he is looking for an HPC cluster solution, he might look at OSCAR. I posted this off list originally because I think it's inappropriate to tout one's project on someone else's mailing list-- I didn't intend the comment about oscar to make it's way back to the CUB mailing list ... my apologies, Rich Richard Ferri IBM Linux Technology Center rc...@us... or ric...@ya... 845.433.7920 --- Sam Ducksworth <sa...@du...> wrote: > andy and richard, > > thanks for the replys. sorry to hear cub and lui > were replaced. i will > have a look at oscar. > > --sam > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This sf.net email is sponsored by: OSDN - Tired of > that same old > cell phone? You're right; the project is fairly inactive. LUI, the installer we used, seems to have been retired, and SCE, the heart of cub after the system has been installed, is now cvollaborating with the NPACI Rocks project. Cub is still a good place to start if you want to build a very small, very simple cluster. However, a number of other projects will provide richer, more robust tools. FWIW, the "cub" script captures nearly all the tricks that we had to learn to set up a simple cluster. Good luck! /andy -- Andy Riebs Hewlett-Packard Company High Performance Technical Computing Phone: +1 603 884 1521 (W) and...@hp... (H) ar...@ea... http://osdb.sourceforge.net |

is this project still active? i noticed the cvs files are pretty old and some links are longer valid. we are in the process of building a proof of concept cluster and want to make sure we are going down the right path in considering cub for our cluster administration package. thanks in advance for any input. --sam |
