This issue I'm eperiencing since the MIDI input has changed (463?). Because I couldn't reproduce it exactly, I haven't create a bug report yet. Now I found out that an external (done at the synth) program change causes the MIDI input of Ctrlr to crash (have to restart Ctrlr to "workaround" it). Do some program changes (it does happen often, but not everytime) on the synth and then try to tweak some other parameters on the synth. You should see that Ctrlr doesn't receive other messages anymore - though it still receives program change messages.

    can you tell me is Ctrlr receiving only the program change message (two bytes midi message) or is it the entire program data (a very long sysex message)

    I think it's a) two bytes MIDI message.
    I opened MIDI monitor and it says: [C8 xx]

    Don't know if this should be fixed but the MIDI input still crashes when doing external program changes. In 526 I experienced additional (but rarely) a complete crash of Ctrlr when doing some program changes and then sending other MIDI messages to Ctrlr.
