The only active fork I am aware of is the Geany fork.

AFAIK Colomban (how started this thread with his offer) is one of the
maintainers of Geany. He (user b4n) committed to that branch recently.

kinds, don't know why. But their parsers seem very well maintained.

Other then that, there are several personal forks. But I haven't seen
a real fork of ctags. Maybe they lost interest, or hope for more
activity here.
