Are you using the taglist plugin? If not, you should be: http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=273 Try it and see if that scratches that itch. Thanks Fishburn. taglist help some. Sometime I just want to open a file simply like vim -t foo.c instead of vim bar/foo.c and also could jump to the header file in the source code like Cscope does. Although, it was proposed in "Tag file Format" (http://ctags.sourceforge.net/FORMAT), current version of Ctags does not support "File Name" as a kind of tag; $ ctags --list-kinds=c 2009/3/14 David Fishburn <Dav...@ia...>: > Are you using the taglist plugin? > > If not, you should be: > http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=273 > > Try it and see if that scratches that itch. > > Dave > > >> -----Original Message----- >> From: tomsu [mailto:hel...@gm...] >> Sent: Thursday, March 12, 2009 12:06 AM >> To: cta...@li... >> Subject: [Ctags] How do open files with tags help >> >> hi all, >> >> How do I open a file in sub-directory with tags help. >> Does ctags collect filenames as TAGs. >> By the way, I using VIM. >> >> Thanks for any suggestion. >> >> tomsu >> >> -------------------------------------------------------------- >> ---------------- >> Apps built with the Adobe(R) Flex(R) framework and Flex >> Builder(TM) are powering Web 2.0 with engaging, >> cross-platform capabilities. It is exactly what you want. > Sometime I just want to open a file simply like > vim -t foo.c > instead of > vim bar/foo.c I don't know what you mean by the above. Bar/foo.c is a directory name isn't it? So what are you wanting / expecting -t foo.c to do? Search your path for the filename or something? > and also could jump to the header file in the source code > like Cscope does. You want this plugin as well. a.vim : Alternate Files quickly (.c --> .h etc) http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=31 After you are editing foo.c, hit run: :A That will open foo.h for you. Since your questions surround Vim and not ctags, I suggest you post on the vim_use forum, there are many many users there to help you.
