I'm new to ctags and it rules!!! OK, now I have my excitement contained enough to continue...

I'm working on a medium sized project that has several sub-components. Each subcomponent has a sub-component directory with src, include, lib, bin, etc directories. As such I opted to use strategy 3 documented in the FAQ for version 5.1 of exuberent ctags. When I get to the point of creating the top level tags file the recommendation suggests essentially doing a ctags -R which has to read all .cpp and .h files all over again. Is there a way to have the top level ctags read in the lower level tags files rather than having to reparse all of my code?
