Centralized vetting and records of Certificate Signing Requests (CSRs)

X.509 (digital) certificates contain data and a digital key used to encrypt data trasmitted to a server. These are derived from a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) which contains the basic data and pertinent key. The final certificate is thus derived from an associated CSR. There are a handful of components within the CSR/certiificate that are required and some that are optional.
The technical specificiations for these componets can be somewhat complex, and change over time as digital security methods change (eg; deprecation of SHA1, MD4/MD5, et cetera).
