Sounds good to me. I know that the alpha code includes both versions of getAlpha(), but is there any other code that handles alpha colours? An update on how TheButtonMatrix is working: I've added an icon for the Load button and I've fixed the problem of the buttons overlapping and obscuring the image. I had to create a new JComponent (called ImagePainter) to act like a fixed-size component that draws any Image given to it. Daryl.
