[Motorola milestone 2] PSP mode

What steps will reproduce the problem?
When I make a call and put the phone to my ear the screen turns off (proximity sensor) but it also locks... So every time i move my ear and it touches the screen, the phone's reacting by vibrating or making noise.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect the phone not to lock.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.00-16 [r410]. Android 2.2

Motorola milestone is maybe affected by PSP issue.
Could you try to switch to ExpertSettingMode (see wiki page in global settings section) and in User Interface settings activate "Keep awake while in call".
If it helps I'd be interested by logs to be able to automatically turn on this setting for moto milestone.

Thanks for the fast response.
I just try this and it worked for me... But as the setting says the screen stays on; so the battery life is now an other issue. Though i prefer to have the screen on than annoying noises (and my sip calls don't last long so I think I can deal with it)
I sent you my log if it can help...

Thx for logs, device added to list of device with PSP mode.
Yes indeed that will consume a little bit more battery (but that's just while in call and I let the screen go in DIM mode so battery impact is not so worse).
In android 2.3 there is a new wifi lock mode that may improve things (I hope, not yet tested but sounds to solve the issue since it will be used by the stock SIP stack of android 2.3).

I also face same problem and I can't find "Keep awake while in call" option in User Interface settings. I am also using Motorola Milestone. Have latest build [r529].

@edesk see the wiki link above to activate expert setting mode.
(in settings you press the menu key of your phone and press expert settings. If label is advanced settings it means that you are already in expert mode.
Then when you go in settings sub menus you ll find a lot of new option.
and in user interface the one that you want : keep awake while in call
)

Alternate solution to this problem is Screen Suite app. This app locks the screen while on call and solves the problem. It is working fine on my Motorola milestone.

I am also using a Motorola Milestone 2, and found that as long as you press the power button to turn off the screen AFTER the call is connected, it will be fine and you will not face any more vibrating or face-screen touching.
However, don't press ANY button (ie. Volume, Power) when the call is not connected (ie. still ringing) if not, the phone will keep vibrating even after the call is connected until you hang up the call.
