#2930 Audio Mode is changed to MODE_NORMAL when routed to BT_Sco

Problem Statement :
When the CSIP call is requested to route to BT-Sco, we see that mode has been changed to MODE_NORMAL instead of continuing with MODE_IN_COMMUNICATION. Because of this, Qcom HAL implementation is not able to route the voice to AUDIO_DEVICE_IN_BLUETOOTH_SCO_HEADSET for input path and voice is still capturing from the Device internal Mic.

Steps to reproduce the problem -

1. Place call
2. Enable BT
3. Try to speak

Expected output -
When routing to BT-Sco, the mode should not be switched to MODE_NORMAL but continue to be in MODE_IN_COMMUNICATION and audio should be taken from bluetooth Mic.

Actual output -
The mode is changed to MODE_NORMAL when routed to BT-Sco and audio is taken from Device internal Mic.

Version of the product used and Operating system used :
CSIPSimple version : Latest nightly (22nd December, 2016 build) of CSipSimple-latest-trunk.apk
OS Version : Android M version 6.0.1

Fix Requested :
Can you provide us with an evalvation version of the APK with the mode not switching to MODE_NORMAL and continuing to be in MODE_IN_COMMUNICATION, when we request to route to Bt-sco?

Hi All,

Though the App sets the mode to MODE_NORMAL when we request to route to BT-sco, on modifying the Android Framework codebase to forceably set the Audio mode to MODE_IN_COMMUNICATION, CSIP call when requested to route to BT-Sco, the input path is getting routed to BT_IN_SCO
after call is routed to BT, without any modifications in Qcom HAl layer.

Hence voice not routing to AUDIO_DEVICE_IN_BLUETOOTH_SCO_HEADSET for input path but still capturing from the Device internal Mic appears to be due to the mode changed to MODE_NORMAL. Could you please provide us with an evalvation version of the APK with the mode not switching to MODE_NORMAL and continuing to be in MODE_IN_COMMUNICATION, when we request to route to Bt-sco?
