What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. connecting through 4G show errormsg "Selected network route not available (activate WiFi or change preferences to use 3G)"
2. connection on 3G prevent switching over to 4G
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Would like to make calls over 4G.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Android 2.2, HTC Evo 4G

Please provide any additional information below.
Could this have someth. to do with IPv4 vs. IPv6?

    I can't test 4g.
Indeed could be something with ipv6 but if it works with other sip client on android I don't think that's the problem. It's more likely an issue with the filtering we do over capabilities of the GSM data channel. It allow to disable over gprs and edge... but maybe (to be check with Logs) the way it's implemented prevent the use of "unknown" data type such as 4g

It should allow all unknown connection type.
I mean not wifi nor mobile. So wimax should be enabled.

    This worked out great.
The sips re-register when entering into a 4G zone, an re-registers again when moving over into a 3G area and this within seconds.
    Excellent solution. Thanks so much.

    Great :)

Now, I have to add an option to allow selectively for incoming/outgoing on 'unknown' network type.

Could be specific to WiMax but since it has been introduced in android 8 (2.2) API, it's better for now to consider wimax as "unknown" network type ;)
