What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect sound to come from earpeice, not the back speaker

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
newest version from marketplace, with android 2.2

Please provide any additional information below.

Ok so like every other SIP app on android, it makes the audio route to my back speaker.

well when you enable advanced mode and change it to "use mode audio API", you can hear out of the earpiece, but the other line cannot hear me anymore.

if you de-select that and go to "audio mode for SIP calls" and select "in call", the same problem happens.

I have tried every other option and combinations of them, and it is always you hear out of the back speaker, or the people on the other phone cannot hear you.

I can do any troubleshooting there is

This kind of issue is linked to the way the manufacturer implements the android audio api. So it's really really really important to say the android device you own.

I really guess that you own a Samsung with a ROM they probably didn't update to fix this problem. Samsung did this kind of thing on a couple of devices. Usually using the "samsung galaxy hack" helped (but that's a awful hack), but on some other devices, even this hack is useless, and there is absolutely no ways (at least as far as I can tell for now) to workaround things on these device).

About the hacks you should read my comment here : https://code.google.com/p/csipsimple/issues/detail?id=119#c38
    (issue 119 comment 38).
I deeply explain what are hacks and what they do.
For example it explains why using "audio mode api for sip calls" and using IN_CALL mode is the same (while you do not activate speaker mode)

I read your post, very detailed.
Any idea how i can activate "in call" mode and still use the built in mic?
