What database backend are you using?  Cause for me, using PostgreSQL, the
numbers stay in sync (although mail only sits in the Outbox for a few
seconds prior to moving to the "Sent Items" folder since I have "send
immediately" turned on.)

If you are using CSV (text files) to store your mail, the delay is most
likely due to the slowness of CSV.

I recommend upgrading to CSCMail 1.7.x as well as switching to a real DB for
storage... however, I really think I'll have the C version functional within
a couple of weeks, so you may want to wait for it...
