cscmailers: Thanks for the tip Count. In fact I had removed as much of the gnome stuff as I thought prudent as my redhat distribution also included kde, and two memory/disk hogs was two more than I needed (or so I thought at the time). But I have a new question. After spending more of my life than I care to anymore dowloading and installing skillions or perl packages, I was informed by the last one that it could not find horse shit.h. So, I also installed over 5mb of MySQL. Do I need all that horse shit or can I get rid of some of it? When I finally got horse shit started it refused to accept mysql as an answer to which DB I wanted to use, anyway. Something about root not being a database or something (whatever). On an unrelated subject (and since I cannot find documentation except some DB which seems to have been aborted, midterm), can DB not read gig's key files or get keys from a key server - must I enter every key manually into the address book (why are they there anyway)? Thanks in advance, Dave |
