If you have "don't download dupes" turned on, CSCMail checks the msgid field of the mail and if that msgid exists in the local message store, it does not download it. If you have delete turned on, it should still delete the dupe off the server. If this is not happening, you may have uncovered a bug. What version of CSCMail are you running? What are your dupecheck and delete options set to?
