Robert M was overheared mumbling something about this on 29 Jun 2000 02:12:56 -0400 > I'm having a problem with cscmail. when I check for mail I see that i > might be receiving several messages but when its done receiving there's > always a message or two missing! what's happening here? > Robert > Do you have "Dupe check mails over all accounts?" turned on? (or, "Don't download dupes" in the Account Editor?) If so, that is the reason for the difference in the number of messages CSCMail reports (it just uses the POP3 STAT command to see how many messages are on the server) and the actual number of messages downloaded. CSCMail does it's dupe checking "on the fly" so as it is about to download each message, it checks the header info for a non-unique msgid. If it sees that the msgid matches a msg already in your database, it skips it... That message still gets "counted" though.. It just doesn't get downloaded... -CZ -- -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.1 GIT/CM d--(+) s+: a- C++++ UL++++$ P+++ L+++>++++ E--- W+++(--) N+ o?
