That was because Steve forgot to update certain places of the installer with the updates, use the attached installer - you shouldn't have problems with it .. Manip 5.38 requires that you put in the timezone variable also - its fixed in the authors homepage but not posted on CPAN yet ... so find Manip.pm after you install and on line 95 put your timezone or cscmail will fail.
