[CSCMail-Users] Still GtkHTML?

I'm using Pronto as my client of choice, but I'd like to try CSCMail (C
version, if that needs to be specified). Is all the conversation about 1.6
(Perl), or is 1.9 (C) ready for serious use?  Does it still require a
successful install of GtkHTML, something that continues to elude me?
