Hi, Have appended a message which I cannot see in cscmail. The message gets downloaded (the little window tells me that one message is retrieved from server), however, after completing, the inbox still claims to be empty and I cannot see the message. I use version 1.7.9 from cvs and for sure it is not the (I think obsolete) bug of not deleting mail from server despite of being forced to do so. Finally I fetched this mail successfully with xfmail and here is the result. There are two files: the first one, 'wrongMessage.txt' I copied from a folder where xfmail usually stores its messages. there are some strange combinations of signs and letters in it. the second one, 'msg.txt' is saved from within xfmail and shows how the body of the message should appear. Unfortunately, the message is in german :-( This problem has already happened a number of times so fortunately I switched off deleting mail from server after downloading so that I am able to check my gmx.de account via its browserinterface at www.gmx.de and delete mail manually there Any ideas? Well, this is odd.. I imported the "wrongMessage.txt" file into CSCMail and it displayed correctly... So I think maybe the bug is in the mail transfer, not the MIME decoding... when you get the message in CSCMail (via POP) it shows on the list, but doesn't decode properly, right? if so, please do a "file"->"save" on that message and send me that... this will let me see what is different in the version POP downloaded via CSCMail and the version that xfmail downloads... > Oliver -Steve |

No, it does not show on the list :-( AND I am not able to import the wrongMessage.txt into cscmail ??? Starting from a shellprompt, there are no messages at all, indicating some errors, it just says "HTML Widget is: GtkHTML", which is a normal statusmessage, isn't it? When I click on file import, I can see a little widget for a very short time, saying something like "Transfer...", but afterwards the imported message still doesn't get listed. And still no error messages at all. Very odd. And another behavior, that I observed today: Now, I don't delete messages from server. So, when I forget to delete manually via browserinterface, the next time I fetch mail this messages will be downloaded again. If so, some messages appear twice (or three times, if again downloaded) but some not! For example, this message from you which I reply to at the moment, still shows only once. Whats this? Have the feeling it appears only with my gmx account, but that may be but by chance, it is the last account to be checked in my list of accounts. I think cscmail indicates the messages by their message-number. The bug with the mails that get not downloaded (in 1.6.1) bases on that I think. Since this error is corrected there may be a message with the same message-id, maybe you already downloaded the message and now its sticking somewhere in your folders. just a suggestion, hope it helps anyways, Daniel > No, it does not show on the list :-( > AND I am not able to import the wrongMessage.txt into cscmail ??? > Starting from a shellprompt, there are no messages at all, indicating > some > errors, it just says "HTML Widget is: GtkHTML", which is a normal > statusmessage, isn't it? > When I click on file import, I can see a little widget for a very short > time, > saying something like "Transfer...", but afterwards the imported message > still > doesn't get listed.
