Hi, I am looking for a method how to find out in script, whether a child widget (e.g. text update) of a group has a connected (to check with isConnected()) pv? Only knowing the name of the child. I would think of a chain like this: child = container.getChild name = child.get PV Name pv = unknown.getPV(name) pv.isConnected() Is this possible? Any help appreciated, best regards, Peter -- Dr. rer. nat. Peter W. Zumbruch EE - department / Controls group E-Mail: P.Z...@gs... Dear, excuse-me if this is not the correct channel to post my doubts. I'm using NSLS2 CSS on Windows XP SP3 and can't connect to any PV from an IOC installed in other computer. Using ca_get on the command prompt is ok, indicating I can connect to this IOC by other ways. I tried to address the PV using "rootHost:calcExample1", "ca://rootHost:calcExample1" and "epics://rootHost:calcExample1". Tried also asking directly for the VAL field in all 3 ways. Tried it in Probe, PV Tree, pvtable and in the Tank widget. But nothing happens. What I'm doing wrong? Hi all, please stop replying to the confirmation message which has been sent to our mailing list. This was sent to the css mailing list when I registered the mailing lists hosted at DESY to the newly created mailing lists at sourceForge. Any mail sent to the sourceForge mailing lists are forwarded to the DESY lists. It works this way: cs-...@li... --> css...@de... cs-...@li... --> cs...@de... --> css...@de... Cheers Matthias |

Hi all. As of today (you have seen from the previous mails) the DESY CSS mailing lists are registered in the CS-Studio mailing lists at SourceForge. So if you send your mail to CSS-Users <cs-...@li...> or CSS-Core <cs-...@li...> They will be forwarded to the mailing lists at DESY. (There's no forward the other way around!) This will open the chance to use the mailing lists either way. You can choose the preferred list yourself. Have a nice weekend!
