Dear Colleagues, CS version 3.11 is released and published to SourceForge, where it is available for download. Version 3.11 is just a maintenance release of version 3.10 including all bug fixed that have been published via SourceForge. There are only minute changes compared to version 3.10+patch7. Since there has been not a single request for additional bug fixes or features, it was decided to publish version 3.11 without going through an formal alpha and beta phase. Please report bug fixes, feature requests, etc. via https://sourceforge.net/projects/cs-framework/. During the last week I was just implementing a base class for Multi-Channel-Scalers. However, I will be out of office for the next two weeks, so I will finish that earliest by the first week of April.

Hello, a few minor changes have been done, and are available at SourceForge, https://sourceforge.net/projects/cs-framework/ , via the download package of package CSMain, release 3.00. GSI users just need to update from the SubVersion repository. Dear Colleagues, I think it is time to announce CS version 3.00_alpha. The new version includes the basic parts of CS, as well as the parts I am maintaining. The software is available for download at SourcForge, https://sourceforge.net/projects/cs-framework/. For GSI users, the software may also be obtained via our local Subversion source code control system. Presently, most of the GSI experiments are already switching to the new version. It is expected, that they publish their software to our SourceForge site as well, once it has been migrated. The documentation has been entirely ported to our Wiki web, http://wiki.gsi.de/cgi-bin/view/CSframework/WebHome. We made some effort to have it up to date and to remove old junk. In case you would like to contribute to the documentation, please do so by adding your contribution directly to this Wiki web. Bug reports, feature requests, supports requests as well as a Forum are also available for you at our SourceForge site (see link at the top of this mail). To my opinion, this logbook can be closed down for two reasons: 1) Bug reporting, feature requests, downloads, etc. are now handled by our SourceForge site, https://sourceforge.net/projects/cs-framework/. For this, we do not need the logbook any more. 2) Judging from the entries in the logbook, it seems I am the sole user. If you agree, you do not have to do anything. If you like to discuss this topic, I would like to encourage you to use our public discussion forum https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3D536980. Dear Colleagues, after quite some work, we have a pre-alpha version of CS-V3.00. There are quite some fundamental changes. The most important ones are: - re-implementation of the communication layer by using DIM (www.cern.ch/dim) - new: Domain Management System for remote process management - new: CS Access System for locking sub-systems (or CS objects).
