I'm not sure that I agree totally. The ".gpg" is important for the dll user to identify "at-a-glance" what kind of file that they have before them. If we remove this then the user is unable to identify what kind of file it is. The dll is not to be armoring anything by default, so the user cannot look at the file contents with a text editor and identify the contents. Perhaps a switch that could be set by default to control the extensions in question? That would allow you to control whether CryptoTW generates an extension. I think depending on the user to rename the file to what they need is as (strong/weak) as having the dll do it for them. -----Original Message----- now that commonline states no file extention ....it would be great if you stop adding ".gpg" to the public key during the gen key call.
