So, I did a little research today on crypto laws for people in the US. Turns out since our stuff is open source all we are "supposed" to do is send a letter to the bureau of export administration telling them a few things and a copy of the source code. I'm not sure if we even care about this, personally i don't, i just thought i would look it up. There was a section on working on crypto with people outside the US and apparently that's OK too if it's open source. So i'm not seeing a whole lot of problems here, it's just a question of whether we want to send them a letter or not... suggestions, ideas, flames ? Dave |
