#3 unresolved symbol when doing makedep

using redhat linux beta roswell
kernel 2.4.7-2
fresh install (so correct System.map etc)
when I run makedep I get
unresolved symbols in crptoapi.o
find_transform_by_name

I get the exact same unresolved symbol problem under
redhat 7.1 kernel version > 2.4.3 with both the
kernel patch from kerneli.org and the cryptoapi here.

With kernel 2.4.3 things work perfectly.
