Yes, I wasn't too concerned with performance, more with compatability
and stability more than anything.
 
Based on what I read, it looks very generic, so it should work on
anything.  Question is, how does it affect other users of that server
for FTP services.  Can it be setup for 1 specific user and not for the
rest?

I'm no expert in Cryptix, but it should work on more or less anything. 

I would be far more concerned with the security of the FTP 
implementation than the performance of Cryptix on a given platform.  
OpenPGP doesn't do you any good when the ftp server has a buffer 
overflow in the login process. :)
