Crypt21 version 0.2 is released, enhancing the online cryptographically secure poker game to support multiple players (up to 20 at present). As with the earlier two-player poker game, the program can actually be used for a wide variety of card games such as blackjack. The crypt21 package has been updated with an OpenPGP format ring signature utility, plus improvements to the online crypto-strong poker game.
The ring signature supercedes the stand-alone ring signature program. By using OpenPGP formats, the interface is far simpler and no special arrangement of the OpenPGP keyrings is necessary. Ring signatures allow a controlled degree of anonymity and can also allow signers to prove their identity to a selected recipient without him being able to convincingly forward the message to others.... read more
The Crypt21 project adds a two-player, cryptographically secured online poker game to its package of unique and fun cryptographic utilities. More general than a poker game, this is actually a program for generic online card games, providing card shuffling, dealing, showing and discarding operations. You can use this in conjunction with a chat window to play a wide variety of card games - it's up to the players to determine the rules, the program's job is to make sure the cards are dealt fairly, with neither player able to influence the deal or learn anything about the cards he doesn't see.
The crypt21 package has been updated with a new OpenPGP utility. pgpdecsigned decrypts an encrypted+signed OpenPGP message, stripping away the encryption layer, and outputting the resulting signed data in the clearsigned format. This lets you save the message in readable form while still being able to re-verify the signature at a later date.
The crypt21.tar.gz release archive has been updated with our first online game, a simple 2-person shared dice rolling program. The dice rolls are cryptographically guaranteed to be fair and uncheatable, allowing games like craps, yahtzee and even board games to be played across the net without the players having to trust each other not to cheat.
The crypt21 project announces the initial release of the source code for its crypto-related tools, in the crypt21.tar.gz package. Ring signatures are a cryptographic tool which provide a controlled level of anonymity: the signer is identified only as a member of a group that he himself selects. ringsig works with your existing PGP or GnuPG key rings.
ringsig version 2.0 adds support for DSA keys in addition to RSA, makes signatures smaller and simplifies the signing process.
