1 - Why not write a custom label incrementer? We have a similar build number here (X.X.X.X). It doesn't take much to manipulate that last digit. 2 - Why deploy to the tomcat instance CC is running under, CC is supposed to be a stable, integration server, not the host of your webapp. Why not scp the build some where an rexec some start/stop commands? It makes sense to deploy it for say, integration testing, but I'd not deploy to the same machine you're running CC on... ________________________________ From: cru...@li... Subject: [Cruisecontrol-user] incrementing project build number Hi all I have configured my project with cruisecontrol & is working good. But I am facing following two issues due to a new requirement. Kindly guide me 1. Version number of build is a number (23 currently in my setup), this is incremented at every build. But we need the version number to be like 2.00.23 (only digits after last dot to be incremented at each build). Is there a way we can customize build number. 2. After we make our deployable file (.war). We need to port it to web server(tomcat). But tomcat needs to be restarted after running build script. To achieve this I added tomcat restarting task to my projects build.xml . But this task overrides my cruisecontrol console & I see output of tomcat. No scheduling works after that in cruisecontrol.
