It's not clear why the Morkov quest references Kurte as "who Morkov hates most". Kurte seems to be a big figure in pupland, but I can't find any link between the two. Therefore, this patch changes the reference to Valriel, as the god of "anti-undead" is likely to be guessed by a player. There may be a better option, but this is the best I can think of at the moment.
After a playtest with two people - I know not a very big sample size, they both guessed Gaea because game lore indicates undead is an enemy race for Gaea while demons are the enemy race for Valriel.
Any thoughts on changing the magic_ear answer to Gaea?
Fair complaint. This riddle is too hard, or needs to be clarified.
There is a "Torn Scroll" in the Navar Prison that reads:
This belongs to a corpse "of the wizard you have been told of", whose bones aren't there.
On further thought, you are right to suggest Gaea.
Overall, I'm still not happy with using just "Gaea" as the answer. Long term, I think it would be good to build a new mini-quest that is triggered by the prisoner's conversation, and leads to a more in-depth story, which culminates in the name of the nemisis. Not that I have time to build that right now...
The easiest way to clarify the riddle is have one of the NPCs involved with the quest respond to a keyword on the Torn Scroll. Finding the Torn Scroll generally goes:
• Find the note scribbled in crayon in Northwest Navar.
• Go to the courthouse and ask about quests as per the note.
• Go to the magic shop and talk to Wizzo (who only responds to a fairly limited number of keywords, I think "dead" is the main thing you need to get him to talk).
• As per Wizzo, check out the Prison and get the Torn Scroll
If after the Prison you could go back and use it to talk to Wizzo for more clues or to the courthouse, I think that would be optimal. Being able to ask who Kurte is for instance or whatever would flesh out the quest, where to find him, find the name of the nemesis, find who he truly hates (if it's not Kurte), etc.
Getting "additional" clues after taking some action first is easy to do with the new/current python quest system. Perhaps that wasn't around when this quest was first created? Does someone who is currently familiar with this quest have some ideas so we can get it fixed and close this out? I'd be happy to help needed.
Kurte is the name of the Court Master who imprisoned Morkov.
There are a few pieces of dialog that were accidentally deleted or misplaced over the years, which is why this quest is so difficult to track down. I plan on restoring the missing dialog and changing the answer back to "Kurte".
