Hi folks: One of the many things I admire about CRON-o-Meter is the way it has been designed to minimize the number of key strokes a user has to enter to achieve what he needs to do. Well done! I have one further improvement to suggest that would further streamline keystroke input.
When I enter a food, I want to add either a known weight, known volume or known number of calories. It is the latter case - known number of calories, usually derived from information on the package - that I want to address here. After clicking on the food I want, it comes up with the data for 1 gram of the food. But of course I pretty much never need to enter just one gram of anything. So, if it is grams I wish to enter I can quickly enter the number of grams. Quick and easy no problem. But if I do not want to enter grams I usually want to enter calories. My suggestion is as follows:
If a user, when he is at the 'one gram step' hits 'enter' without changing the number of grams from just one gram, it would be great if the software defaulted to 'calorie' input for that food entry, moved the cursor to the calorie column for the food, and highlighted the food's calorie column ready for entry of the number of calories.
This would not interfere with input in the form of volume as in that case 'enter' would not be hit until after the chosen volume measure was selected. It would default to calories only if 'enter' was hit when 1 gram was showing in the window.
Hope this helps!
Bravo for a truly wonderful piece of software.
