#149 simplex job breaks the portal?

So, I'm running a simplex job through the portal (which I'd actually like to kill), and am not getting much response from the portal. Mostly I'm getting blank or incomplete pages. Is the simplex job bogging things down? Would a job monitor with a kill job option be a good idea?
