Hi !

It would be nice if we could create GEDCOM 5.5 files directly, without creating 6.0 first. Since we have GEDCOM tree, we should be able to use it directly.

I will use your utility to create GEDCOM file for GenJ, from my own data.

It should probably be easy for you to make functionality that would create GEDCOM 5.5 directly (I don't want to make package for my software that much bigger because I must add JAX libs and all that stuff, that I don't reallty need...

I agree. I took the jaxb approach to get a working implementation up and running as quickly as possible. Please send me a patch if you are able to extend this framework to output GEDCOM 5.5 directly!
