There are a number of tricks here:
Most of these come from http://www.vim.org. Just search Tips for
"registry". I'm not sure if you mean to use Vim/Cream as the default
IE editor, associate it with unassociated file types, or associate it
with the .txt filetype.
In any case, I've gotten so used to right-clicking on a file and
hitting "V" to "Edit with Cream/Vim" that I no longer use these
