Understood.  It's not a big deal, just a minor irritant to me personally.  It sounds like there aren't compelling enough reasons to code this at this time.
It will be a while before I can get to this, I'm trying to clean up
and branch a 1.0 compatible with Vim 6.x before forking for all the
new Vim 7 goodies. I read a rumor (from Bram :) that Vim 7 could
possibly beta this week, it uses all the new Gnome dialogs, maybe it
will have an option for Read Only like Windows?
OK. Let's wait and see what Vim 7 has to offer.
