He's actually pretty scary as he is already... I'm not sure that he really needs a buff at the minute. Perhaps we could humour Jeff and give him Lehudib's Crystal Spear? :-)

Getting to kill a monster more than once? I'm on this bandwagon! Look at what returning undead did for the Castlevania series... and I forget how many sequels they are at by now. Heh, it reminds me of a wise saying from Serious Sam:

Considering that the player has to actually kill Boris for him to be buffed, I see no harm done. Just leave him alone and you won't have to face stronger forms. If player has killed him once, he can probably kill him again without much trouble.
In one of my games I killed Boris 4 times.

I once banished Boris via a sword of distortion. That's certainly one way to be (mostly) rid of him. The more nasty late-game uniques are added, the better distortion/Lugonu becomes, IMO.

However, giving a unique crystal spear is nowhere out of the question; ancient liches already have it, I believe ogre mages (and Erolcha) can get it, deep elf annihilators and possibly draconian annihilators already have it, and Roxanne definitely has it.

Ah well, I usually cast some sort of confusion/silencing spell on such monsters or sneak up and stab them, so they usually don't get a chance to throw much at me. Now I'm *really* glad I didn't give them the chance! ;)
Besides, I like to build up EV more than AP, because you take no damage (and no damage effects!) on a successful evade, but only reduced damage with AP (especially with AP-passing and resistance-reducing attacks).
