Hi, we have Linux 7.2 installed on Compaq ML530 rack mounted setup . There are two RA4100 controllers plugged onto the RAID box in active/standby mode. But we notice that if one of the cards (say active) is jacked out a message stating implicit logout of RA controller port (id) is displayed . That means the cpqfc driver is able to detect the event but it still allows us to write onto the RAID. Once the system is rebooted , the file we wrote disappears. Does it mean that the standby controller could not take over on plugging out the active one ? To our surprise , it even lets us access (write) the RAID if both the controllers are plugged out from the RAID box or from the Fiber channel HUB (HBA end) ! From this it seems that the data actually is written somewhere between the driver and the HBA (RA4100 controller posted write caching does not come into the picture as both the controllers are disconnected throughout) . Please help us . TIA manimay ... |
