Is #define __USE_STD_IOSTREAM due to the use of RogueWave STL ? I think I
already read something about it somewhere (either here or in the forum).

If that is the case, it would be better to detect the use of those STL (it
is a crossplatform library) in the configure script and have config.h do
those define.
