I think I might of spoken too soon. I am unable to directly use the plugin
dll or to create the necessary AddIn project to create a MSVC7 add-in due to
only having the Standard Edition. The option to create an addin isn't even
present.
Anyway - if someone could create the necessary add-in it should be too much
trouble to port the source up from a v6 to v7 since the code already
compiles fine.
The reason why I am trying to get CPPUnit to compile under VC7 is that I am
charged with the task of trying various unit testing tools to strengthen our
new range of products and bullet proof older ones. I've tried a couple of
professional solutions (Parasoft C++Test being the most notable one) but the
generally lack in one way or another. The major fallback is being unable to
specify code before the test to run (ie to load a dataset before the test).
The general rule seems to be the more interface driven the analysis the less
control you have over it. Of the freeware market the only unit testing tool
I could find was CPPUnit.
