Hi, I have developed some mathematical functions which is both compatible to C/ C++ and are running under Linux machine. I have not written the assertion macros in the .C files. Now my question is : 1. Is is possible to pass the source file (.c/ .cpp) as a parameter to any standard function/ command of CppUnit s/w for the testing without adding the macros and classes to the .c/ .cpp file ? If yes, kindly suggest me the way. An earlier mail would help me a lot. Hope for a positive response. Cheers, Diptikant Pathy __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! The final release of mockpp is available. mockpp is a platform independent generic unit testing framework for C++. It= 's=20 goal is to facilitate developing unit tests in the spirit of=20 Mock Objects (http://www.mockobjects.com) and EasyMock=20 (http://www.easymock.org). Mockpp has no own testing framework. So CppUnit (http://cppunit.sf.net) is= =20 recommended. The main development platform of mockpp is Linux. But it is intended to be= =20 platform independent and a port to Borland BCB is already in work.=20 Contributions, ports to other platforms and comments are highly welcome. greetings =2D-=20 Ewald Arnold, Germany mailto:ewald at ewald-arnold dot de mobil/sms:+49-162-8001240 |

Hey Gang First post here :) I would like to know that whether there is anyway in which I can control the tests as per time spend or as per success of previous tests. Requirement #1 Ideally what I want is that suppose 10 of last 15 tests have failed, so the framework should stop testing at this point. The condition should be able to be specified by user at compile time using some scripts. Requirement #2 Also suppose I want to stop testing after 10 minutes. What is the provision for that? I understand that readymade receipes may not exist for these things and I am ready to get my hand dirty with code if you could give me a lead. Thanks -Manu There are things known and things Unknown. I have made this attempt for several days hoping for some temporary problem, but maybe there are some other problem on the way like firewalls(??) at my company? Using "C:\TortoiseCVS\cvs -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/cppuni t login" I get this return "cvs [login aborted]: connect to cvs.sourceforge.net(cvs.sourceforge.net):2401 failed:" and then some text sayng time out in my native language. As this doesn't work, could anybody publish another snapshot (maybe version 1.9.11?)? Please? Chris |

You can get the TestResult by the TestRunner using the method eventManager(). See the doxygen documentation for that class. I'm using TestResult::pushProtector(), but how can I use the testResult object with CppUnit::TextUi::TestRunner? Here's a snippet of my code: CppUnit::TextUi::TestRunner testRunner; . . . testResult.pushProtector( &messageExceptionProtector ); testRunner.addTest( testSuite.release() ); if( testRunner.run( testResult ) ) // can't do this, no such method { result = EXIT_SUCCESS; } Thanks, Noel Baptiste Lepilleur wrote: > > You need to get the TestResult and use the following methods: > > /// Adds the specified protector to the protector chain. > virtual void pushProtector( Protector *protector ); > > /// Removes the last protector from the protector chain. > virtual void popProtector(); > > Baptiste. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Noel Yap" <Noe...@mo...> > To: "Baptiste Lepilleur" <gai...@fr...> > Cc: <cpp...@li...> > Sent: Wednesday, February 26, 2003 10:36 PM > Subject: Re: [Cppunit-devel] Exception handler > > > Baptiste Lepilleur wrote: > > > > > > Give a look to class Protector (available since 1.9.10). You need to get the TestResult and use the following methods: /// Adds the specified protector to the protector chain. virtual void pushProtector( Protector *protector ); /// Removes the last protector from the protector chain. virtual void popProtector(); Baptiste. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Noel Yap" <Noe...@mo...> To: "Baptiste Lepilleur" <gai...@fr...> Cc: <cpp...@li...> Sent: Wednesday, February 26, 2003 10:36 PM Subject: Re: [Cppunit-devel] Exception handler > Baptiste Lepilleur wrote: > > > > Give a look to class Protector (available since 1.9.10). I just found out that, since TextTestRunner::run() returns bool and TestRunner::run() returns void, this is not the right thing to do. Can you help me out, please? How can I use a TextTestRunner with a custom Protector? Thanks, Noel |

In our project, we typically inherit from one of our base exception types. It would be nice to be able to register with CppUnit an exception handler that would call a method on our exception. I've looked through the source and it doesn't look like this is possible currently. Can this be put on the TODO list, please? (I'll see if I can work on it if I get some free time). Thanks, Noel -- NOTICE: If received in error, please destroy and notify sender. Sender does not waive confidentiality or privilege, and use is prohibited. |

I was trying to stay as close to the cookbook as possible. See attachment for my real testrunner.cc. It also adds the feature of passing a command line param to run a single test suite or single unit. ./testrunner TestSuiteName or ./testrunner TestSuiteName::UnitTestName -- Bart Whiteley Computer Scientist voice: (925) 423-2249 National Atmospheric Release Advisory Center FAX: (925) 423-8274 Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory email: whi...@ll... This one actually compiled :) It took some time to get a correct install; my debian version did not link. I had to compile the sources. So, I'm of in creating more testunits! btw; your testrunner: > bool wasSucessful = runner.run( "", false ); > return wasSucessful; seems wrong; wasSucessful is 1 when everything went right, but returning 0 is the 'success' return state of main. So I believe it should be if(wasSucessful) return 0; return -1; And if you want to assume the implied values of the bool (sounds dirty ;). return !wasSucessful; -- Thomas Zander |
