I still have not been able to get CVS working. I have submitted a number of support requests, the last being a couple of months ago. I have not had a response to the last 3. Each time I check the priority has been decreased. I'm definetly not a happy camper!
In the meantime I have done a lot of reading, a bit of gaming, and started a personal project which I will now continue with. I will NEVER touch or recommend CVS to anyone, currently I'm using Perforce, which while a commercial product is free for a 2 client personal licence.
I am quite disappointed by the lack of response from SF support, seems its too hard to do.
Consequently, I'm throwing the admin/PM hat up into the air. I'll keep myself on since I am still very interested in this project, and if you guys do decide to go the XP route, I'd be happy to act as the customer (as long as I dont have to use CVS ;-) ).
Any takers for PM?

a couple of comments.
Sorry to lose you as PM, but I understand your frustration. If there's anything we can do (like try and delete your spike -- doubt that that'll work) let us know.
Good that you decide to stay on; we need everyone we got, and probably quite a few more.
If the alternatives are: take the PM or let the project die, then I'll take it (anybody else interested?). However, there are a couple of caveats:
- I don't like administration :)
- I often feel that people feel that I push them around, which might be caused in part by my insufficient knowledge of the English language.
- I'll be on a prolongued trip to Europe and the Middle East during the summer months (John: read June through August :) ) and will have limited access to the 'net.
So, if there's another volunteer, I'd prefer that.
About the XP idea, I didn't get *any* feedback on that, so it looks like it's not happening. However, I don't hear any other suggestions as to how to proceed. I'm still up to it, but I'd like to hear from the others. (If anyone doesn't know what XP is, please ask.)
A bit frustrated, I spent the last week or so hacking away on the "Replace Local Variable" story, using an "XP light" approach (test first, minimal design, tsstw, refactoring). I convinced myself that we need some sort of a parser/ lexer. I think I can finish it in another week or so, at which point I will upload it or send it to you guys.
So, summarizing, it would certainly help if you play the part of the customer and come up with a few stories; after that we can still decide what to do with them.
Sven.

I have given you admin control since noone else spoke up. I dont think that your absence will negatively affect the project, since these OpenSource projects tend to take a long time and (once started) have a sort of momentum.
I'm not 100% sure the admin required, but I dont think its too much. Making sure that releases are done is the biggie I thing. Allocating tasks, and perhaps moderating forums is another.
I can also help with these things since they dont require full CVS access and I am still an Admin.
As an aside. I dont think I am the only one having hassles with CVS. A couple of days after I posted My Status, I recieved an email from support (hows that for timing hmmmm) saying that they had removed the redundant support requests and had renamed the existing one to categorise it with others. Apparently the SF team is working on it now.
