Thanks for your indications. According to this I think the test result 
seems to be acceptable. The locale codepage error refers to japan codepage, 
the remaining tests are ok.

Hi *,

I'm trying to combine sync and async applications in my webservice.

Sync ones for delivering content and async ones (with json_rpc) for
notification to the server.
So my question is:
    can I dispatch a json_rpc_server to a certain domain like
http://localhost/async ? If yes, how ;)
    is this really useful, or should I make another approach?

I installed cppcms and compiled the "hello world" example in cppcms-1.0.3/examples/hello_world using 

c++ hello.cpp -lcppcms -o hello


I then started the server with 

./hello -c config.js


I pointed my browser to localhost:8080/hello and saw the "Hello World" message. So far so good.

Then I tried to benchmark cppcms using wrk (https://github.com/wg/wrk). I ran

wrk -t2 -c10 -d30 http://localhost:8080/hello

and got this result:

I use wrk on other servers and it works fine for those servers. What is causing the problem here?

[Cppcms-users] Getting list of time zones, countries, locales out of booster::locale. Is it possible?

When a user signs up, he/she specifies their country, and I want to load
the list of time zones available in their country.

Is this possible or do I need to query ICU directly?

I looked into enhancing the <%= %> syntax a bit - and it is a bit tricky
since - especially if you think razor like:

with razor you expect things like this to work:

@for (int i;....){

<li>@i. some content...
}

the problem is that the current syntax only deals with data that comes from
the model - (by prefixing it in the generated cpp) or variables declared
using blocks like the <%foreach...%> block

i toyed around with the idea of performing a 'pascal like' with that will
allow the compiler to find the correct variable using the folowing search
order: local to template, then model, then template - but that forces a few
limitations: on template namings in order to support calling from one
template to another - so this turned into an issue. - but moving to a razor
like syntax can come with the restriction of only using one template in a
file - and use the @Render (and its siblings) to handle calls between files

if i can be of assistance - please let me know.

PS: Artyom what happened to the changes i made to cppcms_tmpl_cc? that
allowed for separate template compilation and use of header files? I
noticed that it got dropped somewhere in the versions - and i hadn't had
the time to resend it to you with updates.

Are you sure you are using latest VC2012 - because I recall such a problem with Boost.Locale with beta versions of VC

Are you sure it is sent correctly? Try to see in browser's debugger what is send.

Also do you see anything in CppCMS logs? Enable high logging level.

I am not getting the post data from a Ajax POST call.

In the Ajax request I am passing the following

data = { value:'test' } ;

and when we try to get the value from the dispatch method using the http::post method it returns 
empty.

string value = request.post("value");

What is happening ?

I see that the private method parse_form_urlencoded() in http::request object which can parse this 
request params.
Who should be calling this prior to calling the dispatch method ?

[Cppcms-users] Errors when executing test_locale_codepage.exe and

I installed cppcms with last versions of PCRE, ZLIB and OpenSSL under 
Windows 7 and VC2012.



During the "nmake test" I have got 2 lines with **not passed** status test:

69:test_locale_codepage

70:test_locale_message

 

After some investigation, I executed the next 2 programs 
(test_locale_codepage.exe and test_locale_message.exe) but I could'nt find 
the cause of the errors. What do you think is happening? What possible 
solutions or workarounds do you think I can apply?  thanks!!:

do you see any serious difficulties with introducing a test mode in CppCMS 
that would allow users to fill an http_request object "manually" in a test 
framework and pass it to a cppcms application class, simulating a request from 
a client? The application class could then fill the http_response object and 
pass it back to the test framework for result check. This would be a great way 
to test CppCMS application classes. Do you think, such a "test pad" could be 
integrated in a future release?

My Idea is to use a different syntax, namely the successor razor where
you can replace all the <% with a simple @. For a simple review see [0]
Now my question is, are you willing to use this, or do you like to have
this feature.

will convert the template to a cpp file, so it should not be that hard.

Ok, wrong again. i've found out whats happening.

The reason the loop was hanging is because inside the loop I was calling
result::get<string>("colname") but colname is NULL in the database.

It still seems like there is something wrong.

Accessing a null column via result::get should either throw() or return
an empty string. Not hang the application.

Well it seems like it's not a memory corruption, but this is the symptoms:

I seem to have some kind of memory corruption happening during copy
construction of cppdb::result.

This is the scenario:

An asynchronous service (JSON-RPC server) holds a pointer to a synchronous
service to obtain some results from the database. The synchronous service
lives as long as the asynchronous

attach(new Engine(srv, new RPC(srv, new Engine(srv))), "engine",
"/engine{1}", "/engine(/(.*))?", 1);

Engine is the synchronous service, RPC is the asynchronous.

The Engine constructor:

Engine::Engine(cppcms::service& srv, apps::tracker::RPC* p): Base(srv)
{
    attach(p, "rpc", "/rpc{1}", "/rpc", 0);
}

RPC Constructor:

RPC::RPC(cppcms::service& srv, apps::tracker::Base* p):
json_rpc_server(srv), ctr_(p)
{
    using namespace cppcms::rpc;

    attach(ctr_);

    bind("load_move_item_form", json_method(&RPC::load_move_item_form,
this), method_role);
}

the load_move_item_form function does something like this:

ctr_->init();
cppdb::result r = ctr_->get_all_items(aircraft_id, tbl, 0, false);
ctr_->clear()

the problem is the result r contains garbage, random memory.

the get_all_items function works fine when called from a synchronous
application though.

the backend is SQLite.

This is running on Mageia Linux with stock standard cppcms-1.0.3 and
cppdb-0.3.1

If I loop through the result before returning it from the get_all_items
function, the items are there, but after the copy is constructed in the
caller, it contains garbage.

Any ideas?
